Conversation:
Exchange of information via e-mail, instant messenger or phone (rarely, because no privacy).
Getting to know one another on a personal level but there are limitations. One doesn't really want to reveal too much of themselves. Especially if both are married, discretion is the up most importance.

Attraction:
Mental, physical and sexual attraction. The kind that makes you want to know this person. Your mind is filled with thoughts of he/she. Not just in a sexual nature but just because.

Location:
Prefer that the person be local. Long distance works as well because chances of running into that person would be scarce. But there is that saying "long distance relationships rarely lasts this means affairs as well". Distance makes the soul hunger...So, if I found myself attracted to someone long distance and things workout, it's possible.
